About Me Several authors have coined the phrase, "The world is your classroom." I can't think of a better way to express my philosophy of education. Raised in Memphis, I was taught to learn by surrounding myself with a variety of people and opportunities. I owned a small non-profit business in college that provided sewing machines for women in Ghana. After graduating college, I knew that I wanted to continue my education abroad while pursuing my passion: teaching. I moved to Accra, Ghana in West Africa in 2012, and taught at an international school there for 4 years. It was there where I grew in leadership as I helped guide our school through ACSI accreditation, organized and facilitated our elementary Science Club as well as initiated our annual Science Fair. I adored my international students, and enjoyed learning the native language of Ghana while exploring the surrounding cities and countries. In May of 2016, I returned to Memphis in order to teach at Grahamwood Elementary and get married to the man of my dreams. I have been around the world and back, and couldn't be more excited to bring "the world" to our 3rd grade classroom.
